Summary

A plain-language read of the 2 October 2026 announcement, separating the legal announcement from operational availability.

What was announced

Argentina's Ministry of Economy announced a Citizenship by Investment Programme, stating it will be operational to receive applications during Q4 2026. It describes two mechanisms: a non-refundable USD 350,000 contribution to the National Treasury, or subscription to a USD 800,000 government bond created for the programme. These are announced minimums for the main applicant, not total costs.

Family contributions

Per the announcement, spouses and unmarried, childless children aged 18–25 may apply with a USD 100,000 contribution each, and children under 18 with USD 25,000 each. The announcement cites USD 500,000 for a main applicant, spouse and two minor children under the contribution route. Government and due-diligence fees are not included in that figure and have not been published.

How applications will be assessed

The announcement says applications will be led by the Agency for Citizenship by Investment Programmes with SIDE, UIF and the Ministries of Security and Interior, covering identity, lawful source of funds, finances, jurisdictional risk, criminal and reputational background and migration history. The National Migration Directorate approves or rejects each application.

What is not yet confirmed

We have not verified an open application channel, regulations, the fee schedule, bond terms, physical-presence rules or processing times. Until then we show the programme as "Announced; intake opening not yet verified".

What to do now

Register interest and discuss your situation privately with a qualified adviser. Be cautious of anyone asking for payment to file before an official channel exists.
